General
ONE;; Play Nice We aren't here to fight among ourselves, even if our characters are. So, please, if you absolutely can't stand another player, then ignore them rather than fighting it out. Keep in mind, just because one character doesn't like your character, that player may still be willing to be friends with you. Sometimes it's just a character's personality.
TWO;; Details, Details Yes, that right; add as much detail as you can to your posts! It will make them longer, and it should give the other players something more to reply to. Even if they are stuck on ideas, a good description of the area or of how your character is currently acting may help them to come up with something and move your topic along to a situation that may be easier to come up with ideas for. Oh, and no chatspeak! Things such as lol and brb are okay on the chat box and out of character, but nowhere past that.
THREE;; Watch Who You're Controlling None of us like it when we read a reply and find out that our character is being played by someone other than us, so avoid doing that if you can. To extend on this, keep in mind that no one is perfect, not even the gods. That's why they're so fun to play. After all, perfect little angels get boring after a while. Oh, and make sure you don't kill anyone. If someone wants their character to die, they bring it to an admin first, and then we'll see about those fights ending in death.
FOUR;; Be Appropriate This is, in essence, a writing site. So please try your hardest to have good grammar and spelling. Especially spelling, considering there's a wonderful spell check button available for you. Also keep in mind, swearing is allowed, BUT excessive swearing will be punish severely. Any topics containing mature content should be marked as such in the title of the thread. If it isn't, I'm cracking the whip. Hard.
FIVE;;Post Length They should be minimum of 75 words, but I'd really appreciate it if you aimed for 100 instead. I'd love to just leave this be, but I know if I do then some people might post with a few measly sentences.
Joining
ONE;; Introducing Characters First point in this rule is that you must wait for your character to be accepted before you start roleplaying. Yes, it's annoying, I know, but I'll have you know I manage to get on almost everyday and if I won't be able to get on and there are no other staff members, then there will be an exception made. We'll cross that bridge when we get to it, though. As for the second point, we do not have a character limit. Your only limitation is that they must all be kept active.
TWO;;Coats and Powers The coats themselves must be normal colors. They are allowed to have different kinds of markings, such as a blue swirl on the shoulder. Growths, such as wings, are also allowed. You may not choose the power you want, though, so if there are too many air elementals, you will be given a different power, and likely be asked to remove the wings from your equine. Every equine has powers, even upon joining, but keep in mind what quadrant they receive when accepted depends entirely on how well written your application is.
THREE;;Pay Attention to the Breed Height must match and coloring must match. If you play a Belgian draft, they can only be palomino. Sorry, that's the way it is. And no Shetland pony is going to be 15hh, sorry. A cross, perhaps, but not a pure.
FOUR;;No humans That means no geldings, no halters, no reference to them at all. It's been over 500 years sine the humans left. So, no, there isn't going to be any trace, except maybe some ruined building, but he horses won't know what they are anyway.
Claiming
ONE;;Herd Claims The post must be 150 words or more. If you are the first to claim the land, then you must provide a name and description for the land. That name and description will stay forever after this. Only stallions can claim lands, and they must be three years old or older. The lead stallion and mare must maintain a herd list, which will be stickied once a staff member sees it. If changes need to be made because a new stallion owned the land, a new topic can be made with the information and the previous one will be deleted.
TWO;;Horse Claims There are three claiming sub-boards, with the specifics inside them. Mares can only be claimed by the lead stallion of a land. Horses older than 1 and younger than 3 can be claimed by the lead mare or the lead stallion. There are to be minimal foals in the claiming lands, and only ever in Gentle Claiming. Any horse can attempt to refuse to go with a lead horse, but this may not be successful. In Gentle Claiming, they can refuse and get away with it, though.
Breeding/Foaling
ONE;;Where? In your land, or in the open boards(not fighting, obviously). Simple as that.
TWO;;Graphic-ness It is allowed, but there MUST be a warning in the title of the topic.
THREE;;Foaling You will go to the 'Expecting' board and post the sire and dam's stats(using the form) there. You will wait until a staff member gives you the basic foal stats(maximum height, color, power, etc.). You may then have your mare give birth. You will not do this in any other order. Or else.
Gender Specifics
ONE;;Stallions Can: fight for land, fight for mares, fight for pride, claim land(past age 3), claim mares(past age 2), claim young horses(if lead), adopt foals(if in herd), breed(past age 2)
TWO;;Mares Can: fight for foals, fight for pride, claim young horses(if lead mare), adopt foals, breed(past age 3)
THREE;;Foals Can: not do too much.
Fighting/Stealing
ONE;;Fighting You will post these in the Fighting Areas board in the Hollow, unless it's out of pride. Pride fights will not be judged. However, for otehr fights, you must PM a staff member to come and judge once the fight is finished. During the fight, you have a total of 5 attacks and 2 dodges. Considerations of injuries taken will be included in deciding who has won, along with whether there was powerplaying/godmodding, proper grammar and spelling, and chance(something 50/50). Oh, and it isn't gender specific. Mares can fight stallions.
TWO;;Stealing There is a board for stealing. You must post a riddle there with 3-5 hints as to which horse you are attempting to steal. If the other lead or mate of the horse(beta, if the herd has betas, is included in this) doesn't block it within three days, the steal is successful. Unless they've posted on the away board. Then the three days starts when they said they were returning. You must wait one RL week to attempt another steal, whether successful or not. Lead mares cannot be stolen, as they can block themselves Beta mares, however, cannot block themselves. Only mare and young horses may be stolen, as foals need their mother's milk.
